Giving Thanks in Black Mountain, NC

SO, this week my official countdown is on! 5 weeks to go (give or take 21 days). Who knew that 40 weeks was just an average gestational period? I guess this is something I DID know, but until it actually mattered to me...I had never thought about it. This baby could technically be inside of me until almost the end of January...my 28th birthday could come and go....OR she could be here next weekend?!? Neither are preferrable... so plays the waiting game.

We did have the wonderful opportunity to travel to Black Mountain, NC (near Asheville, NC) for Thanksgiving. It's merely a 6 hour drive from our house in Richmond...not something I would recommend for the weak (and pregnant). We survived the drive and had a wonderful time. A big plus was that Jake and I were given the master suite in the house my Mom and aunt, Elizabeth, rented which included a huge garden tub that I enjoyed a total of 6 times in our 3 night stay.

Thanksgiving Day was absolutely beautiful. We hiked Lookout Mountain, which was my goal since my cousin Tiffany hiked all the way to the top 2 weeks after her due date. Knowing she did it really kept me going...

This is us on top of the Mountain - Belly is especially huge in this pic, huh?

I keep thinking "Next Thanksgiving our little girl will be 11 months old!" or "Next year, when we decorate our Christmas tree, maybe she'll be able to put some ornaments on the tree." CRA-ZY!

We really loved seeing family over the Thanksgiving holiday...We have so much to be thankful for...every single day. Special thanks to Jake, as always. He was so helpful and we of course enjoyed his delish side dishes for Thanksgiving and many days after...

xoxo,

Kate
